Industry News
By Gary J. Tulacz, ENR magazine, 5/16/2005
For large general contractors, 2004 was a solid year for business. After
three years of sluggish markets and uncertainty, activity picked up in
most market sectors and in most regions. The turnaround wasn’t
spectacular, just strong enough to keep construction firms optimistic,

rankings—including Prolog user Douglas E. Barnhart Inc., which
made one of the biggest moves on this year’s Top 400 list.

Survey conducted by Purdue University and aimed at assessing technology
adoption in the industry
Purdue e-Construction Group, a division of the Purdue School of Engineering,
invites you to participate in a survey to identify the factors that affect
the adoption and integration of construction enterprise information systems
(CEIS). The survey is accessible from the web and takes 20 minutes to
complete. Your responses will be secure and remain confidential.
A summary report and an analysis of the survey will be emailed to the
participants, making this an excellent opportunity to assess the information
systems of your organization and compare your experience to aggregate
industry data.
